Some users might find that their emails are not saved in the Sent folder (After sending out the emails from iPhone) after setting up their email accounts using IMAP on the iPhone. This is usually due to some synchronization issue between the iphone and the email server. If this is the case, follow the instructions below to resolve the issue.


  1. Go to Settings and select Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  2. Under Accounts, select the email account which you’re having the issue.
  3. Make sure that your email account is set using IMAP.
  4. Under IMAP, select the email account again.
  5. Scroll all the way down and you will be able to locate Advanced. Select Advanced to continue.
  6. Under Mailbox Behaviors, you will see Drafts, Sent and Deleted Mailbox.
  7. If your iPhone is synchronise properly with your email server, you should see the settings as follow:
    1. Drafts Mailbox -> Drafts
    2. Sent Mailbox -> Sent
    3. Deleted Mailbox -> Trash
  8. If not, select each Mailbox and select the respective folder under On the Serveras follow:
    1. Drafts Mailbox -> Drafts
    2. Sent Mailbox -> Sent
    3. Deleted Mailbox -> Trash
  9. Make sure click on Done to save the settings.
